RallyHub – Privacy Policy

RallyHub ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application that enables pickleball players to record matches, connect with other players, track achievements, and explore local venues and events. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use RallyHub.

By using RallyHub, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Early Access Notice

RallyHub is currently offered in an Early Access phase. During this period, features, data structures, and functionality may evolve as the product develops.

As a result:

  • Data created during Early Access may be modified, migrated, anonymized, reset, or deleted.
  • We do not guarantee long-term persistence of Early Access data.
  • Some data may not carry over to future versions of the Service.

We take reasonable measures to protect user data during Early Access, but you acknowledge that the Service is still evolving.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

Account Information

  • Email address (if you choose to register)
  • Display name
  • Optional profile settings (such as paddle preferences or default venues)

Profile & Player Data

  • Player profiles you create, including guest or placeholder profiles
  • Connections created via QR codes
  • Display names used to represent players

Match Information

  • Match participants
  • Scores
  • Verification actions
  • Associated venues
  • Timestamps
  • Device platform used to create or update matches

Venue Information

If you create or edit venues, we collect:

  • Venue name
  • Location (latitude and longitude)
  • Number of courts
  • Indoor/outdoor attributes
  • Lighting conditions

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device & App Information

  • Device model
  • Operating system version
  • App version
  • Platform (iOS or Android)

We use a secure, random identifier internally to associate app activity with a device or session. This identifier is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Usage Information

  • App open events
  • Navigation events
  • Match creation or update actions
  • QR code scan interactions

This information is used to operate and improve the Service and is stored securely in our backend systems.

Log Data

We may collect logs related to errors or crashes to help diagnose issues and improve reliability.

2.3 Camera Access

RallyHub may access your device’s camera for the following purposes:

  • Scanning QR codes to connect with other players
  • Capturing or selecting profile or paddle images (optional)

We do not record or store continuous camera footage. Images are only uploaded if you explicitly select or confirm them.

2.4 Location Data

RallyHub may access your approximate location only if you choose to create a new venue and select “Use Current Location.”

Location data is:

  • Used solely to pre-fill venue location fields
  • Not tracked continuously
  • Not stored beyond the venue creation context
  • Not shared with third parties

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

App Functionality

  • Create and manage player profiles
  • Record matches and maintain match history
  • Verify matches between players
  • Display leaderboards, achievements, and community activity
  • Sync data across devices for signed-in users

Service Improvement

  • Identify bugs, crashes, and performance issues
  • Improve features and usability
  • Understand aggregate usage patterns

Security & Integrity

  • Detect abuse or misuse of the Service
  • Protect user accounts and community data
  • Enforce platform rules and Terms of Service

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell personal data.

We may share information in the following limited cases:

4.1 With Your Consent

When you intentionally share:

  • Your QR code
  • Your profile with other players
  • Match participation or history

4.2 With Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to operate the Service, including:

  • Supabase (authentication, database, storage)
  • Expo and platform frameworks (build, updates, device permissions)

These providers process data only as necessary to deliver the Service.

4.3 Legal Compliance

We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using:

  • Supabase PostgreSQL databases
  • Row-Level Security (RLS) policies
  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS)

Certain information may be visible to other users by design, such as:

  • Display names
  • Achievements
  • Public venue information

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain personal data while your account is active.

RallyHub provides an in-app Delete Account feature that allows you to permanently delete your account.

When you delete your account:

  • Account credentials are removed
  • Personal profile data is deleted or anonymized
  • Some historical or community-generated data (such as match participation or venue activity) may remain in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of shared records

Account deletion is irreversible.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request account deletion
  • Export your data
  • Withdraw consent for camera or location access

8. Children’s Privacy

RallyHub is not intended for children under the age of 13.

Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.

If you believe a minor has created an account without permission, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Third-Party Services and Tracking

RallyHub does not integrate with:

  • Advertising networks
  • Data brokers
  • Third-party tracking services

We do not use data for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Changes become effective when posted. For significant updates, we may notify users via:
